Wagner, Terrance”Terry”
Terrance “Terry” Wagner, 61, Goodman, passed away at home with his family by his side on Saturday, April 10, 2010.
Terry was born Feb. 16, 1949 in Green Bay to the late Ernie Wagner and Bonnie Lardinois.
He graduated from Bay Port High School Class of 1967.
He had been a longtime resident of Howard prior to moving to Goodman.
On Feb. 24, 1968 he married the former Mary K. Vannieuwenhoven.
Together, they enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and camping with the P&M Camping Club.
Terry worked for longtime friend Dan Casper in truck equipment for 25 years before he later purchased Lake Hilbert Campground in 2001 in which he poured his heart and soul into making his dream of owning and operating a campground a reality. As a result, he made numerous new friends that became extended family.
He was involved in the Goodman community in which he donated much of his time and energy to keep the Goodman and Lake Hilbert area thriving by serving on several boards; was vice president of Florence County Snowmobile and ATV Club; member of the Goodman Conservation Club and Lake Hilbert Association, was a snowmobile and ATV safety instructor and trail coordinator for the club; was actively involved in the Dun-Good ATV Club ensuring a strong future for the trail system; and it could not be understated how much he loved grooming the trails in the peaceful “northwoods.”
Other interests include sporting clays, hunting in Wausaukee, fishing, trap shooting, bowling, and off-road racing.
He raced since he was 18 with the Wagner Brothers 31/32 race team, sportsman division at Kaukauna and 141 Speedway winning track Championship in 1991 and Mechanic of the year at Kaukauna. He was an avid NASCAR fan making several trips to his favorite short track in Bristol, TN.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 42 years, Mary, Goodman; children, Tim (Nickie) Wagner, Suamico, Tammy ‘Wagner’ Huth and special friend, Brian Lobner, Niagara, Ted (Michelle) Wagner, Ashwaubenon; grandchildren, Dustin, Dylan and Devan Wagner, Maison and Lexi Huth, Briona Whalen and Marisa Wagner; mother, Bonnie Wagner; brothers, Gil (Helen) Wagner, Russ (Connie) Wagner, Dennis (Rhonda) Wagner; father and mother-in-law, Sylvester and DeDe Vannieuwenhoven; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob (Cindy) Vannieuwenhoven, Betty (John) Fotopolous, Terry (Jim) Weibrecht, Wendy (John) Burbey. Further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family and friends may call at the Pfotenhauer Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Howard-Suamico location, 1145 Cardinal Lane, Green Bay on Thursday, April 15 from 4 until 7 p.m. Funeral service 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. John Bergstadt presiding.
